Prayan presents her new album entitled “The Invitation”, a CD made up of 10 New Age songs in English inspired by the Persian poet Rumi. The album's tracks are composed, played on the piano and sung by an artist who introduces us to a great Muslim poet, Rumi, for the first time. She does so from a European perspective, thus in a different, Western expressive context.
Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi the Sufi Persian Mystic, Poet of Love, has inspired thousands and thousands of people over the centuries with his vision that our relationship with the Divine is a journey of Love.
He left marvellous verses to the world, poems which gave Prayan her inspiration, chosen by her for an “inner resonance”, for their beauty or their choral quality.
Originally in Persian, the Artist selected the poems in their translation by the contemporary poet Coleman Barks who, thanks to his more modern style, has made Rumi currently the most widely read poet of the United States.
In two tracks, there is the Middle-Eastern groove of Marco Fadda's percussion.
As regards composition, the track sequence flows into a “musical continuum” of tones and atmosphere that could be defined as a “suite”.
“In the house of lovers the music never stops.
The walls are made of songs and the floor dances.”

Prayan presenta il suo nuovo album dal titolo “The Invitation”, un CD che si compone di 10 canzoni New Age in lingua inglese ispirate dalle poesie del poeta persiano Rumi. I brani dell’album sono composti, suonati al pianoforte e cantati da un'artista che ci fa conoscere, per la prima volta e da una prospettiva europea, i versi di un grande poeta musulmano, Rumi, in un contesto espressivo dunque diverso, occidentale.
Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi, il mistico persiano Sufi, Poeta dell’Amore, ispirò nei secoli migliaia e migliaia di persone con la sua visione che la nostra relazione col Divino sia un percorso d’amore.
Lasciò al mondo dei versi meravigliosi, poesie da cui Prayan ha ricevuto l’ispirazione e che sono state da lei scelte per una “risonanza interiore”, per la loro bellezza o la loro coralità.
Originariamente in persiano, le poesie sono state selezionate dall’artista nella traduzione del poeta contemporaneo Coleman Barks che, grazie al suo linguaggio più attuale, ha reso Rumi il poeta oggi più letto negli Stati Uniti.
In due brani, il groove mediorientale delle percussioni di Marco Fadda.
Al livello compositivo, la sequenza dei brani fluisce in un “continuum musicale” di tonalità e atmosfera che si potrebbe definire come una “suite”.

Rumi's poem “Come” has become a song, for voice and piano.
On 16th September 2015, the video-teaser of “Come” is being published. This is a song in English which Prayan, a singer and spiritual explorer, has created for voice and piano, inspired by the famous poem of Rumi, the Sufi Poet of Love.
The video teaser is an animation where you can read the great Persian Mystic's verses, here translated by the contemporary poet Coleman Barks, between some temperas painted by Prayan herself.

Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi has inspired thousands and thousands people over the centuries with his vision that our relationship with the Divine is a journey of Love.
Prayan tells that before leaving for a Sufi camp in Kyrgyzstan, she had left a beautiful illustrated book about Rumi on her piano, open at the page of “Come” which she had started to put to music.
"Come / Whoever you are / (.....) / This is not a caravan of despair / It doesn’t matter if you’ve broken your vow / A thousand times / Come."
After a period spent in the Blue Mountains, on the Silk Road, practising Silence and Whirling meditation, Prayan came home and found the book, reread the poem, sat at the piano and the melody of “Come” was born. She felt the desire to play the piano and put other poems of Rumi to music.
“Come” is the first of ten songs which will soon be published in the album “The Invitation”.

“Come” la poesia di Rumi diventa canzone, per voce e pianoforte.
Il 16 Settembre 2015 esce il video-teaser di “Come”, canzone in inglese che Prayan, cantante ed esploratrice spirituale, ha messo in musica per voce e pianoforte, ispirandosi alla nota poesia di Rumi, il Poeta Sufi dell’Amore.
Il video teaser è un'animazione in cui, tra alcune tempere dipinte dalla stessa Prayan, si potranno leggere i versi del grande mistico persiano, qui nella traduzione in lingua inglese curata dal poeta contemporaneo Coleman Barks.

Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi ispirò nei secoli migliaia e migliaia di persone con la sua visione che la nostra relazione col Divino sia un percorso d’amore.
Prayan racconta che, prima di partire per un campo Sufi in Kirghizistan, aveva lasciato sul pianoforte un bellissimo libro illustrato su Rumi, aperto alla pagina della poesia “Come” (= Vieni) che aveva iniziato a musicare.
"Vieni, chiunque tu sia, pellegrino, monaco, amante del viaggio, vieni… Questa non è una carovana di disperati... E non importa se hai infranto i tuoi voti migliaia di volte. Vieni."
Dopo un periodo trascorso sulle Montagne Celesti, sulla Via della Seta, praticando il silenzio e la meditazione della danza roteante Sufi, Prayan torna a casa e ritrova il libro, rilegge la poesia, si siede al piano ed arriva la melodia di “Come”. Sente il desiderio di suonare il pianoforte e di musicare altre poesie di Rumi.
“Come” è la prima di dieci canzoni che a breve saranno pubblicate nell’album “The Invitation”.

Prayan is publishing the official video of Come, Rumi's poem for piano and voice.
On 30th September 2015, to mark the Anniversary of the birth of Rumi, the Sufi poet of love, the official video of “Come” is being released. This is the first of 10 poems which Prayan, the singer and spiritual explorer, has put to music for voice and piano, taking inspiration from the great Persian mystic's poems, here in their English version translated by Coleman Barks.

"Come / Whoever you are / Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving / Come.
This is not a caravan of despair/ It doesn’t matter if you’ve broken your vow / A thousand times / Come."
"Come” is an invitation to accept everyone, no matter where they come from, or what culture or religion they are, because the Heart understands everything and lets be.
At a deeper level, according to Prayan, it is an invitation to search for ourselves and follow the path which joins us to our intimate side which is love, immortality, where all living beings are one.
“Come” is a prelude to the CD “The Invitation” that will be published on line on 17th November and with a live concert on 16th December, the night before the Sufi celebration "The Wedding Night", that is, when Rumi left his body to join his beloved Master Shams i-Tabriz.

“Come” è un invito all’accettazione di tutte le persone, al di là di provenienza, cultura, religione, perché il Cuore tutto comprende e lascia essere.
A un livello più profondo, secondo Prayan, è un invito ad andare alla ricerca di noi stessi e a percorrere la strada che ci congiunge alla nostra parte intima che è amore, immortalità, dove tutti gli esseri viventi sono Uno.
“Come” è il preludio al CD “The Invitation” che sarà pubblicato on line il 17 Novembre e con un concerto dal vivo il 16 Dicembre, la vigilia della Festa Sufi “La Notte delle Nozze” quando cioè Rumi lasciò il corpo per ricongiungersi al suo Amato Maestro Shams i-Tabriz.
